Sir Richard Branson is so rich, he’s running out of things to do with his money. The founder of Virgin already owns his own private island with boats, a grand mansion, and numerous other rich-boy toys.

But now, Branson has taken his collection one step further with the world’s first underwater plane.

Underwater plane

The billionaire invited a host from The Oprah Winfrey Show to tour  Necker Island, a 74-acre island in the Caribbean, and take a ride in his new gadget. The “Necker Nymph,” as he calls it, is an aero submarine that coasts through the water like an airplane. Sitting three comfortably, the submarine comes complete with scuba gear.

Branson is the first in the world to own one. Naturally.

He described his ride in the Necker Nymph as “brilliant.” Yes, Richard, we’re sure it was. (Daily Mail)

  1. Seriously… what is the point? As a Scuba Diver I can say that you can get colder faster when you are not moving (yes, I know it is the Caribbean, but still) and second, its more fun to roam about the ocean floor being able to look at life below the sea level from up close! If you are looking what to do with your money, why don’t you donate more of it to charities and foundations that could use the donations to benefit others.
