Robert Joel Halderman, the CBS producer who is accused of trying to extort and blackmail David Letterman, was so paranoid that he believed Letterman might get him fired, burn down his house, or even kill him, the New York Post reports.

According to excerpts released today by Manhattan prosecutors, Halderman told Letterman’s lawyer, who had been secretly wired by the District Attorney’s office, that he would be keeping copies of emails and other evidence he had linking Letterman to several female staffers just in case anything should go wrong.

“I’m worried about someone calling [CBS CEO] Les Moonves, and saying you know, there’s a producer at 48 Hours who should be fired,” Halderman confessed.

“I’m an employee in good standing, but should I be fired, mysteriously … If my house burns down … Any number of things that, I don’t know this person, I’ve never met this person, I have no idea who or what he is or is capable of,” he added about Letterman. (NY Post)

Letterman not going to do that…Halderman & other people should stop & think before they expose a high profile person thinking they are going to get paid off & have a TV spotlight..I would be afraid if I was paid off or not.You just don’t mess with the BIG DOGS…..
