Eight days after being convicted of murder, Amanda Knox received a visit in her Perugia prison cell by Italian officials and 2 reporters who spoke to the 22-year-old American citizen about how she was feeling since being found guilty of killing her British roommate, Meredith Kurcher.
“I am scared because I don’t know what is going on,” said Knox. “I am waiting and always hoping. I don’t understand many things, but I have to accept them, things that for me don’t always seem very fair.”
Knox shares a 2-bedroom cell with another American, a 53-year-old woman from New Orleans who is serving 4 years on a drug conviction.
During the 10 minute visit, she also revealed that she felt “horrendous” the first night after the verdict was read.
“The guards helped me out. They held me all night,” she said.
The reporters were not allowed to ask Knox about the trial itself, but Knox’s lawyers expressed hope that she will be aquitted in an appeals trial. (Huffington Post)
