Amanda Knox Still Has Faith in Italian Justice
The convicted murderer says her trial was “carried out correctly.”
Despite accusations within the United States that Amanda Knox was unfairly charged with the murder of Meredith Kercher, the 22-year-old feels her 11-month trial was conducted appropriately.
Many believe the evidence was insufficient and that anti-Americanism and character assassination took place. Knox, however, doesn’t have a bad thing to say about the legal process.
“The trial was carried out correctly,” she told an Italian MP who visited her in prison. “My rights were respected, I believe so. I still have faith in Italian justice. I have a crazy urge to be free but there is only one path I have chosen for leaving here, and that is the appeal that my lawyers are preparing.” (Daily Telegraph)
