Best-Dressed at the Golden Globes
10 standout dresses that really caught our eye on the red carpet over the past decade.
Every year stars like Olivia Wilde make the Best and Worst-Dressed lists based on award show red carpet appearances. But what about those fabulous outfits that have withstood the test of time? Don’t they deserve their own special list?
In preparation for the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday night (at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC), we put together our own list of the 10 best-dressed stars over the past decade of Golden Globe ceremonies. These dresses are the standouts that we can’t seem to forget, and no one has been able to top. That is, until we see what everyone’s wearing this year!
Here are our choices:
When Halle Berry stepped out in this red and white number with exquisite sequin detailing for the Golden Globes in 2000, every woman in the room — and across the U.S. — experienced immediate dress envy. While we would have given her award just for the gown itself, Halle walked away a winner that night as Best Actress in a Mini Series or TV Movie for Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.
Before Debra Messing wore this Ralph Lauren dress to the 2001 ceremony, we thought no one could pull off horizontal stripes. She told InStyle about her fashion choice, “It was the first time that I felt like I was really taking a risk. It made me feel strong and confident in a way that I had never felt before in my entire life.”
