Best-Dressed at the Golden Globes
Despite the rainy weather, Hollywood starlets dressed to impress on the red carpet.
The red carpet might have been a little soggy last night at the 2010 Golden Globes (as Ryan Seacrest said, “we don’t know how to handle weather in Hollywood”), but that didn’t stop our favorite actresses from pulling out all the stops with some glamorous gowns. In addition to the ever-present little black dress, the night’s major trends included nude hues and jewel-toned (purple, magenta, green) floor-length dresses that were either strapless or one-shoulder. Some actresses took these trends a little too far (or ignored the rules of fashion altogether), but luckily they were in the minority. Here are our 10 favorite looks of the night:
One of the first arrivals on the red carpet, House star Olivia Wilde glistened in a silver Gucci V-neck dress with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, a Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo Zena platforms. Olivia, who recently returned from a trip to Haiti plans to auction off the Gucci gown to raise money for the stricken country. Go to artistsforpeaceandjustice.com for details.
The Glee star looked ready for a Cinderella ball in a black chiffon Oscar de La Renta gown. “It was the first dress I tried on,” she told E! News, and what a great choice! Paired with Chopard emerald and diamond jewelry, Cloubs shoes and a Fendi bag, all Lea was missing was a Prince Charming.
