Custody update on Michael Jackson’s kids
NBC is reporting this morning that Michael Jackson’s three kids will live with their grandmother Katherine Jackson, but his ex-wife Debbie Rowe will get visitation with her biological children Prince and Paris. However Rowe will not ask for custody and will not get any additional money. The two children have been told that Rowe is their mother (Blanket, 7, was born to an unnamed surrogate) and a child psychologist will supervise their meetings. The agreement will be submitted to L.A. Superior Court for approval on Monday.
Meanwhile Michael’s personal chef has spoken to the New York Post about what happened in the star’s rented home on the day he died. The trouble began at around noon when Dr. Conrad Murray, who had arrived at the house at about 9 a.m., came running down the stairs yelling, “Go get Prince!” Michael’s 12 year-old-son ran “to meet Dr. Murray and from that point on you could feel the energy in the house change,” chef Kai Chase said.
The paper had previously that Murray had wanted Prince to witness his attempts to revive Michael, and at first the child had thought his father was joking around.
By the time paramedics arrived, the King of Pop‘s daughter, Paris, 11, was crying uncontrollably. “I walked into the hall and I saw the children there. The daughter was crying. I saw paramedics running up the stairs,” Chase said.
A small group of household staff gathered around the children — the nanny, a housekeeper and Chase — and they held hands and prayed. “We were all praying, ‘Help Mr. Jackson be OK,’ ” Chase said. “Then everyone was quiet.”
Murray is the primary focus of the LAPD’s manslaughter investigation but TMZ reports that at least 19 doctors are being investigated for fraudulent prescription practices. Michael used more than two dozen aliases to score drugs. The release of his final autopsy results has been delayed till next week. (NY Post)
