Man Gets Four Years in Jail for Trying to Fake Death
A man who crashed his plane in the Florida Panhandle in an attempt to fake his own death was sentenced to more than four years in prison on Wednesday.
Marcus Schrenker, 38, of McCordsville, Indiana, is believed to have tried to fake his death to avoid prison time for defrauding investors through three companies he owns in the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana.
In addition to the prison sentence, Schrenker must also pay the Coast Guard more than $34,000 in restitution and the Harley-Davidson Credit Corp., the plane’s lien-holder, $871,000. (CNN)
