Celeb Style: The Brazilian Blowout
Celebrities choose the Brazilian Blowout to get their glossy straight hair

With stylists on call and on hand for every photo opportunity, it’s no wonder that celebrities never seem to have a bad hair day. But if you think every starlet is spending their days in the salon, you’re wrong – they have another trick up their sleeves: the Brazilian Blowout. Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan and Halle Berry are all said to owe their smooth strands to this professional treatment, and it’s perfect for anyone looking to eliminate frizz while maintaining volume.
The Brazilian Blowout works like this: First your hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo to get it as clean as possible and blow-dried until damp. Then the Brazilian Blowout solution is applied section by section before the hair is blow-dried completely. The product can then be applied again over any frizzy or fuzzy areas before it is flat-ironed. The hair is then rinsed, a smoothing serum is applied, and hair is blow-dried again.
After this treatment, you can let your hair air-dry for loose waves, or blow it completely straight in 10 minutes or less. This 60- to 90-minute treatment does not use harsh chemicals, and it gradually washes away after about 3 months, so you don’t see it growing out. The cost ranges from $350 to $500, and for best results, steer clear of shampoos that contain sulfates after the treatment.
