Michael Jackson

1. Twitter was abuzz on Thursday as news of Michael Jackson‘s death sent A-Lister after A-Lister scurrying to their PDA’s. Some were initially in disbelief (as most of us were) such as Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who tweeted “Tmz please be wrong” after the gossip site posted word of the 50-year-old icon’s passing. But possibly the most interesting of tweets came from John Mayer, which really blew us away. Mr. Self-Absorbed man-boy actually said something worthwhile for once: “I think we’ll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player.” Seriously, how many of us cried simply due to the memories of Michael from our childhood? (Omg!)

Michael Jackson wax figure2. Thousands of fans gathered in Harlem and Times Square yesterday afternoon to mourn the loss the The King of Pop. Admirers moonwalked and texted outside the Apollo Theater, where Michael Jackson first performed at the age of 9 alongside his brothers in 1969. Those in Times Square were greeted with a bittersweet treat when Madame Tussauds wax museum decided to position a statue of Michael – decked out in his “Thriller” jacket and black trousers – in the front window on 42nd Street. 3. “This is Michael Jackson‘s estate, everyone. So we’ll find out later in the news what happened.” Day-trippers aboard a Starline Tours bus got more than they bargained for yesterday when the guide drove them to the front gates of Michael Jackon’s home. Thirteen people witnessed the legendary singer being taken away in an ambulance en route to the hospital. Dang, talk about a where-where-you-when moment!! (TMZ)

4. The show must go on! Johnny Depp was scheduled for an interview with David Letterman yesterday, which went ahead as planned despite the loss of two of our biggest show-business icons, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.  The gorgeous and amazingly modest actor revealed that he never, under any circumstances, watches his own movies. Well that’s just fine by us Katie Holmes and Tom CruiseJohnny, we’re happy to do the drooling for ya! (PopSugar)

5. Katie Holmes‘ people are running around like  chickens with their heads cut off since photos of the actress looking rather preggers hit the ‘net. This week Katie and hubby Tom Cruise visited Hollywood to watch pal Cameron Diaz receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the paps were in full force. What do you think? It sure looks like a hint of a baby bump to us! (The Insider)
