The Great (Cheap) Holiday Escape
‘Tis the season to flee, or at least to take advantage travel deals
-Mary Beth Sammons
In these days of economic uncertainty and turbulence, the temptation may be to hunker down at home and bury yourself in job worries and a list of other woes.
But resist the impulse. It’s time to tap into your inner adventurer, pack your bags and plan a holiday getaway. According to The New York Times, the continued global financial turmoil is creating some good news in the form of last-minute gifts for bargain-seeking travelers. Resorts, airlines and exotic lodgings across the globe face sluggish bookings.
That’s awesome news for those of us who are tired of spending our holidays cooking and cleaning for everyone else. Think about it – can you see visions of yourself celebrating New Year’s on a beach in Bermuda? Or how about heading to a safari in Africa instead of hosting the in-laws? The possibilities are endless … even if your pocket-book is not.
