Rihanna Chris BrownWe all thought Chris Brown’s savage alleged beating of Rihanna sounded like a nightmare. According to a sworn police report, it was far worse than we feared.

On the same day Chris Brown was charged with two felonies in Los Angeles Superior Court, a police report detailing the gruesome details of his alleged attack was released.

The events recounted in the report (below) are so vicious and chilling that it’s inconceivable for Rihanna to even glance at this (alleged) man again – let alone reconcile with him.

And yet, she has.

In fact, Rihanna’s attorney didn’t even request a “stay-away” order during Brown’s court appearance Thursday. Her attorney, Donald Etra, told People, “She did not feel a stay-away order was necessary.”
After reading the report of what Brown allegedly did to Rihanna, it seems more necessary than the air she’s breathing.

I asked Retha Fielding, Chief Communications Officer for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, to help us understand Rihanna’s behavior.

Women often will go back six to eight times before they can actually leave,” she said. “Violence is a cycle and he’s in a honeymoon right now. He’s being very good, he’s being the man she fell in love with. So she can talk herself into the idea that this will never happen again.”

But in Fielding’s experience, it almost always does, at least until both people get help, she said.

“They both need to get some help to learn how to be in healthy relationships, especially him,” Fielding said. “He needs to learn what a healthy relationship looks like … and he needs to deal with the issues that caused him to batter.”

If convicted of the two felonies he’s charged with – one for assault and one for making criminal threats – Brown faces up to four years and eight months in prison. One of Rihanna’s relatives told People, “He should be in jail,” adding, “He deserves whatever he gets.”

Brown’s arraignment was delayed until April 6. He was ordered “not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.”

Court documents released Thursday included a sworn police statement by Los Angeles Police Detective DeShon Andrews, detailing what allegedly happened between Brown and Rihanna on February 8, according to CNN

The report refers to Robyn F.; Rihanna’s full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. We’ll let the affidavit speak for itself:

“Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown’s cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.

“A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against he passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion.

Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.’s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.

“Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, ‘I’m going to beat the s–t out of you when we get home! You wait and see!’ “

The detective said “Robyn F.” then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales, who did not answer.

“Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, ‘I’m on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.’

“After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, ‘You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I’m really going to kill you!’

“Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in [an] attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown.

“Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand, causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps (sic) that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand.

“Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa Ford. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street.

“Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand.

Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of 333 North June Street and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it.

Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.’s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.

She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown’s body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions.

“Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.’s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order.”

  1. Oh my God. This is the first time I’ve read the whole thing and it made me sick to my stomach to imagine what she went through. And the fact that she has gone back to him makes me feel even more sick. How can Rihanna read this and think, “I love this man.” ???

  2. I know – I could hardly get through the end of the police report — it’s just horrendous. And to think that so many women suffer this and more all the time.

  3. My lord. How could he NOT serve jail time after that report? I hope this woman finds the strength to never have contact with this man again. Never.

  4. I had a relative that went through this and belive me she went back – it took alot for her to finally realize that the person wasn’t for her – what is mentioned in this article is correct – women who have been victims or abuse will go back because they think they can change the man and that he wont do it again – its chilling to read this – i was close to tears when someone read it on the radio. I hope they get help.

  5. Situations like this where women are brutally beaten by their boyfriend or husband should not be taken lightly. Abused women always go back. She’s scared he will do it again, but she feels somehow that she deserved it or that he will change his way. He won’t. And it won’t be long till he does it again. She’s too scared to leave him. She has been traumatized and deluded by this relationship and her pleas to forgive him should be ignored. This is not love. A real man would never EVER hit a woman he loved. He should be slammed with a life sentence right smack in the left eye.

  6. If she goes back to him she deserves what she gets and I have no sympathy. In this day and age a woman has choices and they should all know by now that if he does it once, he will do it again.
