Betty on the News: Conan O’Brien Banned from NJ Airport by Mayor
Newark mayor Cory Booker retaliates after Conan O’Brien made a joke about Newark by banning him from the airport

After telling a joke-gone-wrong about Newark mayor Cory Booker, late night talk show host Conan O’Brien has been banned from the Newark International Airport.
It all started when O’Brien cracked a joke during his Tonight Show monologue last week at Booker’s expense.
“The mayor of Newark, NJ, wants to set up a citywide program to improve residents’ health,” the comedian joked. “The health-care program consists of a bus ticket out of Newark.”
However, Booker did not let the comment go unanswered, releasing a tongue-in-cheek YouTube video earlier this week and decreeing that O’Brien may no longer set foot on the city’s soil, including the airport.
“Not only am I the mayor of New Jersey’s largest city, I’m also mayor of a city with one of the largest airports in the United States,” he said.
“So now, according to the powers invested in me by the people of the city of Newark, I’m officially putting you on the Newark, NJ, airport no-fly list. Try JFK, buddy.” (New York Post)
