Did You Miss International Pillow Fight Day?
Fun-seeking people all over the world participated in Saturday’s International celebration of pillow fighting.
This past Saturday was International Pillow Fight Day, where sleepover-style brawls erupted in over 150 cities around the world, including Barcelona, Vienna, Sydney and New York City.
In New York, the organized event was held in Union Square, where people of all ages brought their pillows – either a plain white one they bought right before the fight, or their cartoon-themed one from home – to blindside as many people as they could in an all-out pillow war.
Youngsters sat on top of their parents’ shoulders, where they seemed to have the best advantage over their 20-and 30-something opponents. After the battle, Union Square looked like a feathery mess. “I think I ate a million pounds of feathers today,” Danita Shaheen, 24, told AOL News.
Those who did not want to take their weapons home left their pillows at the scene, where volunteers scooped them up to send to animal shelters, hoping they’d make comfy beds for some lucky animals. If only those dogs and cats knew how meaningful those pillows were – they survived International Pillow Fight Day! (AOL News)
