Movie week! What fun idea — but some the songs were so LAME! I mean, there are over a thousand amazing Disney songs and we get “Bare Necessities?”
Niecy Nash started the night off by jiving to “La Bamba.” To me, that felt like a samba song and samba costume. But she shimmied her “jiggly parts” oh so well and had fun. I actually thought her other dances were better, and maybe I’m sensitive to food comments, but Niecy we get it – you’re hungry.
Chad Ochocinco danced to “Bare Necessities” (to reiterate: the worst song ever on DWTS), and that alone would have bummed me out all week long. Chad and his partner Cheryl Burke seemed to have real tension this week, but I totally blame that on the song. There was nothing cool about their dance either. I just hope they get through another week and dance to something stronger.
Note: The dancer and the stars don’t pick the music, unless things have changed since my time on the show, but if Chad picked that song then he deserves to go home.
Erin Andrews and Maks (Maksim Chmerkovskiy) at least got a cool movie theme with Pulp Fiction. The song was great, as were the costumes – and this was a jive that felt like a jive! Okay, it’s no secret I haven’t championed Erin — and it’s not that I didn’t like her, I just kinda haven’t cared either way. However. I loved her this week! The dance was really fun and worked perfectly with the theme, giving her best dance so far.
