With week six of Dancing With The Stars comes two dances, and as a former competitor, I know this is when it gets really hard, because your time is split in half. As a viewer, I’m sad that the group dance was a competition dance. I much preferred those silly group numbers, like the country and western dance my season did, or the hip-hop theme they did when Cloris Leachman was there.
For the first dance, Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower did the Samba. Jake left his pants on this week, but he showed flesh again with an open shirt. I know I said it before, but he really is doing a “Mark Ballas” face … pow, pop, wow! …maybe Mark is helping out someway. I keep reading dating rumors about Mark and Chelsie, so maybe Jake is copying Mark’s face and NOT his feet. I think the judges are really nice to him… that’s all I’m saying.
Another Samba was next, from Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya. So it looks ten times better then Jake’s, yet they get the same score? The judges appear to hate Evan, but not I. Evan got a little hurt in rehearsals while practicing a lift, but don’t worry – he is fine to keep dancing. His pre-show package showed the incident a few times and I could barely watch it!
Our first Tango of the night was from Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel, who brought comedy through food. She doesn’t need food jokes because she can dance, and I just want her to dance! BUT it’s my issue and not hers. Louis almost choked on a cookie at the end of the routine, but the judges were finally happy with Niecy. They scored the same three seven’s as the past two couples, but after that cookie Louis looked like he was in pain.
