Fall Fashion: Champagne Style on a Beer Budget
No matter what your budget, update your wardrobe for fall with these fab key items
-Jennifer Goodkind and April Daniels Hussar
Champagne taste; beer budget? Pas de problem! This fall “the look” may be the sexy style of a Parisian woman (think Coco Chanel borrowing her boyfriend’s blazer, throwing on some pearls and spectator pumps and creating the ultimate mix of masculine and feminine), but the good news is, personal style is the emphasis, rather than the “it” bag or “the” shoe.
No matter what your budget, effortless chic means good editing and creatively mixing and matching with fewer pieces. Statement necklaces and cuff bracelets are strong accessories that update any favorite from a past season. A bold ring is a great addition to personalize and add a confident edge. A little bit of ruffle on a blouse can soften the ubiquitous leather bomber jacket. Boyfriend jackets are a nod to the ’80s and an easy way to buy into the menswear influence we will see everywhere in the form of strong shouldered jackets, vests and man-tailored pants. Scarves have become seasonless, making their way from winter to summer.
Menswear and ruffles; leather and lace … This fall it’s a rich look, but you can get it on a tight budget.
