Bra Horror Story
Does Victoria’s Secret Use Formaldehyde in Bras?
Roberta Ritter’s sexy Victoria’s Secret bras left her hot to the touch. But not in a good way.
According to Good Morning America, Ritter and other shoppers are complaining about rashes, hives and permanent scars from their V.S. unmentionables.
Ritter has filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging the Angels Secret Embrace and Very Sexy Extreme Me Push-Up bras caused her extreme discomfort.
In this clip, she describes her welts as “very red, hot to the touch, extremely inflamed, blistery… itch[ing] profusely.”
Ritter’s attorneys say they lab tested similar bras from Victoria’s Secret and discovered formaldehyde in the material. The lingerie company denies using the chemical, and the bra lines in question remain on shelves.
Now I’m not an “organic-or-die” kind of girl, but formaldehyde? If it turns out true, that’s one scary screw-up.
GMA reports that other women have come forward with similar symptoms and filed papers to begin a potential class-action lawsuit.
