Get the Look: Audrey Tautou at the Coco Before Chanel Premiere
How to get Audrey Tautou’s naturally elegant beauty look.

Oh Audrey Tautou, je t’adore. Whether she’s playing a charming Parisian sprite in Amelie, being chased in heels by a crusading albino, or channeling the mother of all fashionistas, Coco Chanel, her quintessential French gamine-ness shines through. Is there anything more chic? Audrey’s appearance on the red carpet for the premier of Coco Before Chanel was no exception.
You may not be a tiny little minx of a woman with a Jean Seberg hair-do. But you can still rock this gorgeous, ultra chic beauty look. I spoke with Mally Roncal, celebrity makeup artist, and Maggie Ford Danielson, benefit Makeup Trend Artist, to get the scoop on how to pull off Audrey’s naturally elegant look:
According to Mally Roncal, eyebrows are the key to this look. benefit’s Maggie Ford Danielson agrees, saying, “Audrey’s naturally dark, thick brows are a perfect example of how brows can frame and almost become the centerpiece of a look.” Most important point: Make sure they’re well groomed and filled in properly.
Try: benefit Instant Brow Pencil in medium to dark ($20, Sephora.com), which goes on super smooth. Mally Roncal also makes a fab eyebrow grooming kit ($35, qvc.com). Another good choice is Lancôme’s MODÈLE SOURCILS Brow Groomer ( $21.50, sephora.com).
“For playing up the eyes you want to choose a neutral shadow and play up the lashes! Choose a shadow that has blendable, buildable stayng power,” explains Maggie. A cream shadow will intensify your look in seconds.
Try: benefit Creaseless cream shadow/liner in “Birthday Suit” ($18, sephora.com). I also love Laura Mercier’s eye basics ($24, sephora.com) and tarte’s Lock n Roll eyeshadow duo, which comes with a cream shadow and a loose shadow with a roller ball applicator to glide on top for a luminous finish ($17 for both, drugstore.com).
