How to Get the Perfect Pout
Tip of the Day: Kissable lips start with a single line.
Here’s how you can show off your pucker. First smooth your lips with a moisturizing lip balm, Nivea’s A Kiss of Moisture Hydrating Lip Care SPF 4 (below left, $2.99, ulta.com) replenishes dry lips. Then take a lip pencil, like Lancôme’s Le Lipstique (below right, $23.50, lancome-usa.com), it’s waterproof and has its own brush. Then begin drawing a line at the center of upper lip, and then go outward with the pencil following your own lip shape to the corner of the mouth. Repeat on the other side. Continue to line from the corner of the mouth down and around the bottom lip to the opposite corner.
You can play up thin lips by drawing just slightly outside of the lip line. Downplay large lips by drawing well inside the lip line. To soften liner edges, blend the color towards the lips with a lip brush (Sephora Professional Lip Brush #61, below, $10, sephora.com).
