Daily Dish: Hugh Jackman Addresses U.N. Summit on Climate Change
The hunky X-Men actor gets real serious in front of the U.N. about what’s happening to our planet.
He’s one of the sexiest men alive and he cares about the environment … Hugh Jackman is clearly every woman’s fantasy. The Aussie actor attended the United Nations Climate Summit in New York on Monday to talk about the serious issue of climate change with the big guns of the U.N.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star told those in attendance that he doesn’t use a private jet and has recently invited experts into his home to make it more “green” after being jolted by a trip to Ethiopia last year.
Hugh says that while on his trip, he met a coffee farmer named Dukalee, who really made the reality of climate change quite clear, and he noticed how it deeply impacted the poor in particular.
“On this trip it really gelled for me that you can’t separate the issues of climate change and poverty. They are inextricably linked,” he told the U.N. “Having been to Ethiopia and seen these farmers, seen the battle they face from what is a problem that the developed countries have brought on many of these developing countries, there is a justice, there is a gap we need to fill.”
We hope that the members of the U.N. weren’t too distracted by Hugh’s natural beauty to listen to the important truths coming out of the sexy man’s mouth. Climate change is real people! (IMDb)
