Hungover? Skip the Coffee
While caffeine can make you feel more alert, it does more harm than good if you were drinking the night before.
Scientists at Temple University in Philadelphia urge individuals suffering from a hangover to steer clear of caffeinated drinks, especially coffee.
A new study reveals that not only does a piping hot cup of flavorful goodness fall short in sobering you up, it makes it harder for you to realize you’re still intoxicated and can lead to impaired judgment.
“The myth about coffee’s sobering powers is particularly important to debunk because the co-use of caffeine and alcohol could actually lead to poor decisions with disastrous outcomes,” Thomas Gould, who guided the study, revealed. “People who feel tired and intoxicated after consuming alcohol may be more likely to acknowledge that they are drunk.” (Daily Mail)
