Chris Golightly

American Idol contestant Chris Golightly originally made the Top 24 and was even seen standing alongside Ryan Seacrest at the end of Wednesday’s show, but People reports that he has since been switched out.

“It has been determined that Chris Golightly is ineligible to continue in the competition,” a press release from FOX states. “American Idol contestant Tim Urban has replaced Golightly as part of the Top 24.”

So why the sudden disqualification? Well according to USA Today Chris was under a recording contract, and even though he claims it expired the month before he’d auditioned, producers weren’t so sure.
