Infidelity: The Weekly Update!

The latest on all the sneaky hookups and sleazy girlfriends.

Eliot Spitzer

Eliot Spitzer. What would an infidelity story be without at least one politician? Today’s guest is former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who as a crusading prosecutor once put fear into the hearts of white-collar felons. But an investigation in 2008 found that Spitzer wasn’t above a little unethical activity himself. Although married, he spent close $100,000 on high-priced call girls over a period of a few years. Since then, one of them, Ashley Dupre, has gone on to such career highs as a Playboy cover shoot. Now, a new book published about Spitzer details his encounters with three escorts in one single day. “You’re going to think I’m crazy,” Spitzer reportedly said in his third call to the agency. (No argument there.) “But can you send somebody else right now?” The book also contains some devastating quotes from the politician’s wife, Silda Wall Spitzer. Two years ago, Mrs. Spitzer looked sad and tired as she literally stood by her husband’s side during the obligatory I’m-sorry-please-forgive-me news conference. According to the book, Mrs. Spitzer said to a friend, “On some level, this is my fault. The wife is supposed to take care of the sex.” But eventually, the  book says, Silda, who’s still with her husband, realized that the infidelity reflected badly on him rather than her. Let’s hope he reached that same conclusion a long, long time ago.

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen. Guess what? Charlie’s in trouble again. The star of Two and a Half Men was recently caught cheating on his wife, Brooke Mueller, with escort Angelina Tracy. Obviously unaware of the investigative powers of the tabloid press, Charlie actually thought he could escape detection by wearing a hoodie and a fake mustache. Wrong! Things haven’t been going well for him since late last year, when he was charged with domestic violence following a Christmas Day fight with his wife. Now they’re both in rehab – Charlie for cocaine and Brooke for crack. He’s in residential rehab; she’s been dealing with her drug issues at home, at least until a few days ago, when she left to get treatment someplace else. (Believe it or not, the couple’s adorable infant twins, Max and Bob, are still with their parents.) This isn’t the first time Sheen’s been involved with prostitutes. Back in the 1990s, he was a client of Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, who predicted that Sheen’s first marriage (to Denise Richards) wouldn’t last because he liked prostitutes too much. Sheen’s marriage to Mueller will probably endure, a source told RadarOnline, because of a tight prenup that leaves her with very little money in case of a divorce. “The entire domestic violence incident started because Brooke and Charlie were drinking and doing drugs,” the source said. “Now they’re both in rehab and he’s back to cheating and they are both miserable with each other. It’s the same cycle with them.”

Mike Nilon

Mike Nilon. You’ve probably never heard of him. Neither did we, until earlier this week when his wife, former NYPD Blue actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, found out he’d been cheating on her for the past five years. Deciding to take the direct approach rather than waste time arguing and crying with her spouse, Garcelle sent a mass email to his coworkers (ouch) headed “Tiger Woods/Jesse James/Mike Nilon.” The text was even better: “What do they have in common… I found out today that MY husband of almost 9 yrs has been having an affair for 5 yrs with some slut in Chicago. I am devastated!!!! And I have been duped!!”

Garcelle, we think you should give Elin Nordegren a call.

A world of wonderful men … not.

  2. Ann13 says:

5 years? That’s a long time to be having an affair, especially when you’ve been married for 9

I was cheated on, it broke my heart and stomped all over my trust in him, he was doomed from then on.
The humiliation turns to anger, anger leads to the ‘No More One Mores’, and eventually one walks away and never looks back.
I’d like to add a poem I’ve carried around for years as a symbol of strength I wasn’t quite sure I had. Maybe you know someone who needs to be reassured, please pass it on.

    AFTER A WHILE
    by Veronica Shoffstall

After a while, you learn the subtle
    difference
Between holding a hand and chaining
    a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
    And company doesn’t mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses
    aren’t contracts
    And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes
    open,
With the grace of a woman, not the
    grief of a child,
And learn to build all your roads on today
    Because tomorrow’s ground is too
    uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling
    down in midflight.
And after a while, you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get
    too much.
So you plant your own garden and
    decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to
    bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
    That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
    And you learn and learn…
    With every goodbye, you learn.

Thanks for sharing the poem, Ruby, have seen it before but it is a good one.

LOVE the poem, Ruby! I too heard it a long time ago and I think it is inspirational.
These guys are crazy. C’mon, cheating on classy, beautiful ladies like Sandra, Elin, and Garcelle? Too bad children are involved.
I felt bad for Brooke when I heard they were engaged because he is a known cheater. Heidi Fleiss knows what she is talking about with him liking hookers!

Beautiful Poem! We live and learn! However, the methods of teaching can be cruel sometimes. Poor women, they deserve so much better.
