Last week code that was used to break into Google mail accounts in China was posted on the Internet, and you could be vulnerable — if you use Internet Explorer 6.
A flaw in IE 6 makes it easy for the hack code to be launched on your computer, wreaking havoc not just in your email but your whole system. Bye bye photo library!
Microsoft has posted a security advisory detailing the problem, and urging users to upgrade to newer browsers. Microsoft’s next scheduled update isn’t till February 9, but here’s a tip: Don’t open any tempting emails from people you don’t know.
