Yummy Wine Cooler (calories: 80 per serving)
Brenda J. Ponichtera, RD, author of Quick and Healthy Recipes and Ideas, is a big fan of this homemade wine cooler that is both flavorful and light.
“This works well with different wines, but a Cabernet wine combined with Fresca provides great flavor and a berry pink color,” says Ponichtera. “If you prefer less sweetness, use half Fresca and half tonic water, and garnish with an orange or lemon slice.”
1 cup sugar-free soda pop (Fresca, ginger ale, tonic water, Sprite, club soda, seltzer water, etc.)
1.5 cup of wine (white, red, or blush)
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, add soda pop and wine, stir to mix.
