John Edwards’ Former Aide Releases Tell-All Book
Aide claims Edwards considered leaving his wife, Elizabeth, made a sex tape, and more.
Last week, John Edwards admitted to being the father of his mistress’s child. This week, a revealing book about Edwards will be released called The Politician, written by one of his former aides, Andrew Young. So far, Edwards is having an awful 2010.
In the book, Young describes how Edwards enlisted his help to try and cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter so that his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, wouldn’t find out. Young says Edwards told him he was considering leaving his wife, but the love that he had for her was making him stay. He also had major guilt because she had an incurable form of cancer that returned in 2007. “If I helped him, I would make Mrs. Edwards’s dying days a bit easier,” Young recalls Edwards saying.
Among other things, Young reveals that Edwards was obsessed with his hair, hated the “fat rednecks” that showed up at state fairs, was money hungry when it came to campaign donations, and made a sex tape with a then-pregnant Hunter. According to the Journal, Young even watched it. “It was like watching a traffic pileup occur in slow motion – it was repelling but also transfixing.”
Oh, and he also asked Hunter to get an abortion and referred to her as a “crazy slut.” Reserve your copy now – we’re sure there’s more gems like this in The Politician, which hits stores Saturday. (Huffington Post)
