Each weekday this month, check out BettyConfidential’s exclusive tip from top trainers and nutritionists, and take a look at the daily three-meal menu from NutriFit, a health-conscious food delivery program that works with A-list stars like Angelina Jolie.

Tip of the day

Take a vegetable to lunch. Most people, including dieters, think of vegetables as part of dinner, not a mid-day meal. But that can be a mistake, says Molly Wangsgaard, RD, corporate dietitian for the Jenny Craig weight-management program. Wangsgaard’s suggestion: “Put raw veggies and take them with you every day to supplement your lunch at work. Non-starchy vegetables [i.e. carrots, celery and peppers] can add volume to your meals and increase your satisfaction with few extra calories.” For added taste, pair with a small quantity of low-fat dressing or dip.

1 multi-grain waffle
1 cup red raspberries
2 teaspoons almond butter
1 teaspoon maple syrup

1 pink grapefruit
