Although he previously claimed to be innocent, the man accused of stalking ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and secretly taping her in hotel rooms will plead guilty to a federal stalking charge after all, according to a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in California.
Michael David Barrett allegedly manipulated hotel room peepholes to make seven tapes of Andrews naked and then put them on the Internet.
“Mr. Barrett accepts full responsibility for his conduct. He apologizes to Ms. Andrews, and expresses his deep regret for his conduct that caused her so much pain. It is his sincere hope that these events can now become an opportunity to make positive changes in his life,” said Barrett’s lawyer, David Willingham, in a statement. (CNN)
