Daily Dish: Michael Jackson’s Family Fuming Over ‘This Is It’
The singer’s family worries that the documentary will ruin Michael’s rep
AEG Live claims that Michael Jackson was in excellent health and should have been able to perform 50 shows, while his father Joe says that the King of Pop was definitely not up for more than 10 gigs … which do you believe?
The singer’s family is livid over the This Is It video – being released October 28 with the majority of the profits going towards the Jackson Family Trust – as they fear it will be edited in such a way that makes Michael look like the bad guy.
“They believe the movie only includes the best clips of Michael’s final rehearsals,” an insider told Page Six. “He supposedly looks fit, together and excited. The family can’t speak out because money will be paid to the trust, but privately, they fear the movie is propaganda to back AEG’s argument that Michael was healthy and wasn’t being exploited.”
AEG Live President and CEO Randy Phillips had previously said that Michael agreed to extend the number of performances to 50, but his father claims that that isn’t true.
