The blogosphere was in a tizzy this week after mommy blogger Shellie Ross shocked many by posting the details of her 2-year-old son’s death on Twitter.
After his 11-year-old brother accidentally left a gate open, the young toddler tragically fell into a pool on Monday, prompting Ross to tweet, “Please pray like never before, my 2 yr old fell in the pool.”
Five hours later, after he was pronounced dead, Ross tweeted again, “Remembering my million dollar baby” and included a photo of Bryson in her post.
Ross’ ability to compose messages on Twitter so soon after her son’s death has left many in the online world bewildered at the mother’s actions, but Ross, whose Twitter account is now private, defended herself to ABCNews.com, saying “Nobody has a right to question” why she tweeted.
“I didn’t tweet-by-tweet the accident,” she added. Many bloggers — mommy and other — have come to her defense as well, saying that reaching out to her virtual community is as natural as placing a call to friends to ask for prayers. (ABC News)
