Nicole Richie: More About Her New Sitcom
She’s working out how to juggle all her responsibilities and already has a leading man in mind for her new TV show.
To say that Nicole Richie has her hands full would be putting it mildly. The actress/writer/designer is now developing an ABC sitcom, which she will be starring in as well as producing. She’s also working on her second novel, as well as the February launch of her new clothing line, Winter Kate (which is in addition to her House of Harlow 1960 accessories and a maternity collection). Oh, and don’t forget the busy little mamma has two children, daughter Harlow, 11 months, and son Sparrow, 3 months, and is planning a wedding to long-time boyfriend, Good Charlotte lead singer, Joel Madden.
“Nicole is juggling like crazy, but believes she can get it all done, eventually,” says a friend. “Plans for the wedding haven’t been finalized, so they are thinking of putting it off.”
Joel, who is behind Nicole’s new project 100 percent, will be heading out on tour next year to promote his upcoming album — adding more chaos to their already hectic lives. “He promises Nicole that he will be there for her and the kids as much as possible.”
And another problem Nicole faces is breaking the promise she made to herself not to have a nanny. “There’s no way she can do all this without help. She’s already interviewing people for the job,” the insider tells BettyConfidential.
Announcing her new project, Nicole posted this statement on her blog, “The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional.”
“She wants to the character to be a little loopy and funny, so people can laugh about the life of a woman who wants it all and her struggle to get it,” adds the friend. “She also plans on adding a touch of Paris Hilton to the character.”
