Nicollette Sheridan is suing Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry for $20 million, claiming he abused her on the set.
Sheridan claims that back in 2008, she approached Cherry with a complaint about the show’s script. According to Sheridan, that’s when Cherry got violent.
“[Cherry] took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” the suit alleges.
Sheridan claims that the incident was one in a pattern of “abusive and aggressive” behavior toward her and other Desperate Housewives employees. She claims she approached ABC about Cherry, but that the network ignored her complaints. She also claims that when co-star Teri Hatcher complained about similar behavior, Cherry said, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.” Charming!
ABC Studios is already on the defense: “While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit,” a rep told Us. (Us Magazine)
