Oscar Night Makeup Makeovers
The fabulous faces of Kate, Angie and Anne
-Lois Joy Johnson
Lancôme scored at the Oscars last night. Their pros painted the most glamorous faces in the crowd right before showtime and to their credit the makeup lasted perfectly through hours of grinning for the cameras (and never ran, smudged or smeared despite a few teary moments and sweaty song-and-dance numbers). Want to duplicate the look yourself?
Here’s what the Lancôme pros used from their own brand , along with a few extra products slipped in from other makers.
Kate Winslet, who was already tres chic wearing YSL: Kate’s face was prepped with Lancôme La Base Pro primer to keep everything from slipping and sliding. Her trademark brows got extra emphasis with Lancôme Brow Expert in Naturel, and on her lips she wore Lancôme Color Fever Lipstick in Old Flame for a soft matte finish. Jillian Dempsey, who wielded the brushes, also added Avon Pro Eyeshadow Trio in Ice Shimmer for sparkle on Kate’s lids when she faced the camera in close-ups and a few coats of Avon Pro Mascara in Black.
Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive was all eyes and lips as usual: To get her Audrey Hepburnesque look, fill in your brows with Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Sable, dust Lancôme color Design Eye Shadow in Ciel du Soir over the entire lid, and apply Le Crayon Kohl in Black Ebony to the upper lash line, followed by lots of Oscillation Mascara in Black. Then add Lancôme Color Fever Lipstick in Brickhouse for a berry-stained pout.
Angelina Jolie looked simply amazing in emerald earrings and an Elie Saab black strapless gown: Makeup pro Mary Burton used Lancôme Le Crayon Kohl in Black Ebony to frame her upper and lower lids before swinging the line up at the outer corners in a subtle cat’s-eye. She used Shu Uemura Blush in M Pink31 on the cheekbones and Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling on Angie’s lips.
