Pete Wentz: Mr. Mom
The Fall Out Boy rocker is on daddy day care while his wife, Ashlee, does Broadway.
Pete Wentz has gone from playing guitar in Fall Out Boy to being on daddy day care duty this holiday season. While Pete’s wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, stars in Chicago on Broadway, the rocker is a full-time stay-at-home dad this winter in NYC. The father of 1-year-old Bronx Mowgli straps his son to his back and heads around the city running errands just like any other Manhattanite.
This week Pete has been on toy and gift duty, picking up packages for the couple’s friends, family and baby son. Pete’s first stop was Toy Tokyo, where he had called ahead for three bags of toys and figurines for pals. The hip Lower East Side store is near the couple’s apartment. “Pete is a very cool gift giver,” an insider tells BettyConfidential. “This year he’s picked up quite a few Where the Wild Things Are Kubrick figures for some of his guy friends.”
Ashlee, 25, has her 30-year-old husband running errands she isn’t able to do while she’s busy with her Broadway run. “Their family is coming for Christmas and this will be the first year that Bronx will have some understanding of the excitement and fun of the holiday,” the source says. “Ash asked Pete to take care of lists of projects to get ready for the influx of visitors. He takes the baby along gets all the shopping done between naps and meals.”
