Project Runway: Who Will Win?!
Tonight’s the night we find out who takes the top prize! Here’s the rundown on the final three and our best guess for the designer who has what it takes to become our next Project Runway success story.
Project Runway is finally going to Bryant Park! Three designers will bring their own sense of style alive on the runway to try to win over Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, score that fashion spread in Marie Claire and grab that $100,000 cash prize that will jumpstart their own line. So who’s got what it takes to stitch up the win? Betty breaks it down for yah right here!
It’s pretty obvious Emilio likes to dress women. He makes clothes that are distinctly feminine (remember his pink Mommy dress for the kid clothes challenge?) and figure flattering, like his Harlem denim gown, which earned him the New York City neighborhood win with fellow finalist Seth Aaron. Emilio’s designs are pretty and could easily translate into a commercial fashion line that real gals (read: us!) would actually wear.
Why He’ll Win: The judges love color and patterns, and since Emilio loves to use both, he’s already halfway there. Emilio can easily pull together a cohesive collection of day, evening and special occasion dresses that will work on any woman’s body. And with five wins under his belt, he certainly has set the bar high to take it all.
Why He Won’t Win: Just like Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn said, there was a lack of the sophistication that we normally see in Emilio’s pieces during the hometown visit. And since Emilio doesn’t care what Tim thinks, that could cost him the top title.
