Of course, it isn’t just Zac’s personality that has captured Rob’s heart. Just like Zac’s legion of female fans — not to mention his HSM co-star and real-life girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, 21 — he appreciates the Disney dude for his other assets. “His face is so specific,” Rob squeals, “it’s surreal.” It’s also a face the New Moon star can’t seem to shake from his mind — he even thinks his Edward Cullen action figure looks just like Zac!
That might not exactly be a stretch, considering that the actors really are beginning to resemble each other. Both of the lanky guys favor the same grungy style, sporting matching beanies, Ray-Ban sunglasses, plaid shirts and slouchy jeans. More recently, the men changed their locks and went out on the town in each other’s signature hairstyles!
At the March 1 Remember Me premiere in NYC, Rob tamed his usually tousled mop into an Efron-esque sidesweep, while Zac revealed an unruly do patterned after Pattinson at the Oscars ceremony one week later. “I woke up with it this way — kinda just ran with it,” he coyly claimed. Hmmm, sounds familiar. “I kinda wake up like this,” Rob said when asked about his famous follicles during a 2008 Tonight Show appearance. And the homages between the A-listers don’t end there: The twosome has even adopted the same hand-in-the-hair stance when posing in public.
While the once-hot bromances between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, Ashton Kutcher and Diddy, and even Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong have since fizzled out, the love affair between Pattinfron looks like it might actually have legs. And if Rob’s sentiments about Zac are any indication, expect them to grow even closer.
“He looks,” Rob says, “like he smells really good.”
