The California appeals court denied Roman Polanski the Christmas wish he wanted this year: for his decades old child-sex case, in which he’s accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, to be dismissed.
Instead, the court shot down Polanski’s appeal, despite being “deeply concerned” about the alleged misconduct of the 1977 trial by the original judge and DA, who supposedly conspired to punish the director after a medical examiner recommend a probation sentence instead of jail.
Polanski, who is currently under house arrest in Switzerland, will remain in Europe at least until January when Swiss authorities expect to make an announcement on whether or not they will extradite Polanski back to the U.S. (E!)
