At a journalists’ dinner this past Saturday night in D.C., Sarah Palin wasn’t afraid to poke fun of herself (as well as Democrats and Sen. John McCain’s 2008 campaign staff, of course) in a speech that would rival any late night talk’s show host’s opening monologue.
Among the comedic gems were Palin’s crack that she had considered titling her book, How To Look Like a Million Bucks For Only $150,000, a reference to the amount of money the campaign reportedly spent on her wardrobe, before settling on Going Rogue.
She also made a few jokes at Vice-President Joe Biden’s expense, saying that if the election had turned out differently, “I could be the one overseeing the signing of bailout checks and Vice President Biden could be on the road selling his book, Going Rogaine.”
She also threw a few barbs at the room full of journalists attending the winter dinner of the Gridiron Club, noting that she was glad to be appearing before an audience of well-respected intellectuals, “or as I like to call it, a death panel.” (Fox News)
