Sarah Palin Rap

Go Governor Palin!

-Julie Ryan Evans

Did you see Sarah Palin – both the real one and the spot-on impersonated one done by Tina Fey – on SNL this weekend? I have to admit I was in bed before it came on, but I’ve pulled it up several times online to watch and rewatch it, because it’s HILARIOUS!

If you missed you missed the Palin rap, performed by the brilliant Amy Poehler while Palin danced along to the beat in her seat (or you just want to watch it again … and again), here you go:

The lyrics are hysterical – no matter which side of the aisle you’re on. I loved this part best:

my country tis of thee
from my porch i can see
russia and such

all the mavericks in the house put your hands up
all the mavericks in the house put your hands up
all the plumbers in the house pull your pants up
all the plumbers in the house pull your pants up

when i say ‘obama’ you say ‘ayers’
obama. ayers. obama. ayers.
i built me a bridge – it ain’t goin’ nowhere.
[ohhh]

While Amy Poehler did a stellar job, it would have been even better if Palin took the mic herself … but that’s probably asking a little too much. I say good for Gov. Palin for appearing and having some fun with this campaign and being a good sport.

She even appears to have some rhythm …
