Spartacus Star Andy Whitfield Diagnosed with Cancer
Whitfield’s illness has delayed production, but according to Starz he’s going to be all right.
Andy Whitfield, who plays the mythical lead in the Starz original series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
The handsome 38-year-old learned of the disease just prior to shooting the second season of the celebrated show.
According to a statement released by Starz on Tuesday, the actor’s cancer was detected in its early stages and is therefore “very treatable.”
Production is currently on hold while Whitfield undergoes treatment. (The New York Daily News)
