Alligator found in New Jersey park

It sounded like something out of one of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books. An alligator was caught in an inner-city park in Stephanie’s hometown of Trenton, NJ, this week.

For those of you not familiar with one of the finest fictional characters of the modern day, Stephanie Plum is a heroic if sometimes klutzy bounty hunter who is not-so-ably assisted by a plus-size former prostitute named Lula (who has a love for fluorescent Spandex and fried chicken).

Janet has described her protagonist in the past by saying, “If Mickey Spillane wrote Archie and Veronica, Stephanie would be Betty.”
