Chances are they’re the chick flicks you’ve had to force your guy to watch with you, but who cares? When you want to laugh a little, cry a little, and even sigh a little, these romantic comedies fit the bill.

10. Pretty Woman

Director Garry Marshall’s new film, appropriately enough called Valentine’s Day, is the latest by a man some call “the master of the romantic comedy.” I actually think he really only made one good one, and this is it, the movie that turned Julia Roberts into a megastar.

9. Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Audrey Hepburn, the patron saint of chicks, in her defining performance. Also, “Moon River” is one of the very best theme songs of any movie, in any category, ever.

8. Some Like It Hot

Some Like It Hot

The first and, some would argue, greatest gender-bending comedy, from the legendary director Billy Wilder. Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe in what is without question one of the single funniest movies ever made. Also, it has one of the best closing lines, spoken by Joe E. Brown, which still makes me laugh.

    Catch and Release is one of my favorites from more recent times, along with A Lot Like Love. All the movies listed are awesome!

    I have seen all but Annie Hall!? How about Ever After (Drew) Charade (Audrey again), Sweet Home Alabama (Reese)or just about any John Hughes movie!

    I can’t believe “While you were sleeping” is not on the list. That is my all time favourite romantic comedy. I have seen it more times then I can remember and I love it each time.
