Blame it on the recession or the return of must-see primetime TV, but Americans are sitting in front of the tube more than ever.
According to the recently released Nielsen ratings for the 2008-2009 season, the average person spends about four hours and 49 minutes per day watching TV, an increase of over 20% from 10 years ago and four minutes more than the previous year.
Thanks to shows like American Idol, Mad Men, and Heroes, primetime TV viewing remains at its highest peak since 1991. (Perez Hilton)
