Betty on the News: Angelina Jolie Visits Kenya
Saint Angelina Jolie visits Somalian refugees in Kenya

Despite juggling a movie star career and six kids under the age of 8, Angelina Jolie takes her role as UN Goodwill Ambassador very seriously. She traveled to Kenya this past weekend to help draw attention to the overcrowding problem in refugee camps there.
The camps, built in 1991 for Somalian refugees, are only made to accommodate 90,000 people, but currently over 285,000 refugees call the camps home, and that number is expected to grow each month.
A very thin-looking Jolie spent the day on Saturday at a settlement in Dadaab on the border of Kenya, meeting with refugee families in order to help find a solution.
“What is amazing is that as more and more people come into the camp, the Somali families continue to be generous with what little they have, even if that means having one eighth of the water they need and their children suffering from dehydration,” she said.
“The Somali families I met today are full of warmth and affection. I wish more people could meet them because then they would have a stronger desire to help.” (SIFTY)
