Betty on the News: Beatles Love Rock Band Game
The remaining members of the fab four give their stamp of approval to The Beatles: Rock Band video game, which is set for release on Wednesday
While some musicians have balked at the thought of adding their tunes to the Rock Band series, the Beatles couldn’t be more thrilled that they were asked to contribute to the insanely popular franchise.
On Wednesday, Harmonix is releasing The Beatles: Rock Band video game, which has been closely monitored by the Beatles and their estates. The musical game allows players to sing and pluck along to a generous list of Beatles classics while scenes such as Liverpool’s Cavern Club are displayed in the background.
CNN correspondent Peter Wilkinson recently spoke with Giles Martin, the son of Beatles producer George Martin, who was responsible for mixing the music. Giles says that both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are very pleased with the results.
“They only work on collaborations, they don’t let companies go off and come back and deliver a product, they have to every step of the way,” Giles said of the members’ involvement. “You know both Ringo and Paul have been in here a lot looking at the game, working on the game. Talking to us about every single aspect and it wouldn’t be coming out if they weren’t happy, so they are delighted with it.” (CNN.com)
