In a new development in the case of 24-year-old missing Yale grad student Annie Le, Connecticut State Police announced last night that they have found a body that they believe to be Le stuffed inside a wall at the school lab where she went missing last week, as well as blood-stained clothes stashed above a drop ceiling.
Le was to have been married yesterday to a Columbia grad student from Long Island and after hearing the news, her family was still much too shocked to speak.
“I’m sorry?” her grief-stricken aunt mumbled, as she remained on the phone in silence after the body was found.
Yale University President Richard Levin sent out a campus-wide e-mail under the heading “Tragic News.”
“Our hearts go out to the family of Annie Le, to her fiance and to her friends,” Levin said in a statement. “The family, the fiance and the friends now must suffer the additional ordeal of waiting for the body to be positively identified.”
A young man was seen being led from the lab building for questioning early Saturday, but police refused to release any information on his involvement in the case. (NY Post)
