There may be no vaccines for animals, but officials are warning to protect your pets from swine flu as you would anyone else, after a 13-year-old cat in Iowa came down with the virus.
“Indoor pets that live in close proximity to someone who has been sick are at risk,” said Iowa veterinarian David Schmitt.
“It is wise to monitor their health to ensure they aren’t showing signs of illness.”
Happily, both the cat and its owners in Iowa have recovered from the swine flu. (NY Daily News)
