Betty on the News: Debate Between Clinton and Bush Nixed
The 42nd and 43rd presidents call off “the hottest ticket in political history” event.
An exchange between former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush originally slated for February 25 has been canceled because a promoter overhyped it as a fight to the finish.
Clinton’s spokesman Matt McKenna alleged that the appearance was never meant to be a “debate” and would have been set up as a moderated panel discussion.
Of the event Bush’s rep David Sherzer said that the 43rd president was “looking forward” to conversing with Clinton, but felt canceling was ultimately the right thing to do. (The New York Post)
