The home of accused kidnappers and rapists Phillip and Nancy Garrido was searched on Tuesday for evidence related to the disappearance of two other missing girls.

Michaela Garecht, 9, and Ilene Misheloff, 13, disappeared in 1988 and, while no previous evidence linked them to the Garridos, a gold-colored sedan that was removed from the Garrido home on Tuesday matches the description of the car Ilene was last seen getting into and the car used by Michaela’s abductor, investigators said.

The husband and wife were arrested last month and charged with the kidnapping and rape of 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard, now 29, who was found living in makeshift housing in the Garrido’s backyard with her two daughters. (LA Times)
